One Of Those Days

It's dark. Why?

Eyes open. Now there's light. Already things are lookin' up.

I'm on my back... this isn't the first time. These sorts of things keep happening to me. Man.

Whoa, there we go. I'm up, I'm moving. These feet are on fire! Where are they taking me? I see objects move towards me, moving just until they reach me, when they suddenly pass me and keep moving away from me. Peculiar. Where did I learn that word?

Haha! I'm laughing. How free I am, these legs and feet, so capable, so confident in their duties of mobilization.

Oh great. I've stopped. What now?

I'm blinking. The effect was negligible. I press my eyelids together as hard as I can, drawing my chin closer to my throat, then release the pressure, returning my head to its upright position. This causes my eyes to bug out. Hey, it also focused my image. Neat. I'm looking at something.

My eyes quickly dash around, absorbing and noting the specifics of the image before them. I see an ear, no, make that two, and a pair of lips. Nostrils - two, too. Hey those words sound identical. No time for that, I need to focus. My eyes keep picking at the information. Two eyes! My own eyes see another set of eyes, looking right at them. Are they studying each other? Like newly introduced dogs, incapable of accepting human standards of decorum. Haha, what a funny image!

Oooooh! I get it now. The puzzle comes together. I am looking at a face. A human face! Wait it's moving... ok, good, not the whole thing, just a part of it. Which part? Come on, you've made it this far. I think it's the lips. Yes, I'm right! The lips are moving.

They're moving up and down, sometimes contracting, sometimes stretching out lengthwise. How odd, I wonder what - wait, something else moved! Damn, I missed it... there it goes again! The eyes. I saw it, the eyes distinctively moved. It was quick, but the lids moved down and then up again, covering the eyeball for a fraction of a second. Luckily I'm a quick thinker, otherwise I would have missed such a rapid movement.

The lips are still moving. Wait, there's something else. A vibration in the air... is that sound? I've heard so much about this sensation. My ear is a tiger poised to strike the unknowing fawn of sound. Man that sounded pretty good. I should be a poet.

Wait here it comes. It's loud!

OK pause YOU CAN'T STAND HERE pause SIR pause breath THE SIGN SAYS TH

Too much information! I crossed the line! Who do I think I am? I just had to play God. I'm such a fool! Oh to be the tinkerer and not the toy! Pain, guilt, shame.

Hey these feel new. I could get used to this. I feel moist in the fold between my arm and my torso.

Oh man. Down I go.

It's dark again.

This always happens to me.
